Comedy entrepreneur, LaToya Tennille, has taken the world by storm with her stand-up, skits and theatrical comedy productions. She has worked with comedy legends, J. Anthony Brown, Rodney Perry, Tiffany Haddish and most recently Kevin Hart, when she was featured on his Comedy Central Show, “Hart of the City.” Performing at spots such as the legendary J Spot Comedy Club in Los Angeles, California, she has made her mark across the United States with charisma, wit and finesse. The Memphis native won “Best Female Comic” at the 2017 Artsy Awards. LaToya Tennille has made history by becoming the first African American woman in Memphis to produce an all-female sketch show. She is the founder of the Memphis Urban Laughs Comedy Festival and Memphis Urban Laughs Comedy Awards Show, Memphis’ first major comedy events centered around African American culture and community. She is also the creator of LOL Memphis Improv Troupe which has been featured at the Memphis Black Expo. As the owner of LaToya Tennille Productions, this versatile comedienne started Young Funny Comedy Camp for youth and many other events dedicated to using comedy as a tool to unite, heal and educate. This single mother of two gives a new definition to “Jill of all trades” as she recently delved into event hosting, songwriting, vlogging, storytelling and flash fiction, using her life experiences to create captivating experiences for readers and audiences from all walks of life.
